I think we can agree that 2020 has been A Year. We’ve all been faced with a lot of uncertainty and challenges this year. Many companies had to adapt to a new way of doing business. We did, too! While some of our team members were already working remotely at least part of the time, sending our whole staff home to work was something we didn’t anticipate. As the year has progressed, we’ve been able to maintain a high level of service to our customers even as our own in-office/remote work situation continually changed.
Now that we’re heading into the holidays, we thought it might be a good idea to step back and reflect on some of the things that we’re grateful for this year. If nothing else, 2020 has changed the focus of life for lots of people… us included. We took an informal poll of our staff, asking them what they’re thankful for in 2020, and here’s what they said:
Our 2020 Thanksgiving List
Phil Lieberman, Founder, Partner
My general answer is that I’m thankful for my health. I know it sounds a bit trite – because I have so many things to be thankful for. But without my heath at my age, many of the other things I could be thankful for just would not come into play. Many people do not make it to 75. And of those who do, many have poor health and can’t really ‘enjoy’ life.
Yes, I’m thankful for my wonderful family. But they are wonderful individuals because they, individually, make themselves such. But without my health, I could not participate. That’s why I’m thankful.
Yes, I have equity. But without my health, I could not enjoy it.
Yes, … and the list continues.
Stewart Klipsch, Managing Partner
I am thankful for a business that has provided for the many families who make their living from it.
Carl Batteiger, Director of Business Development
Thankful for one year at a great company with a bright future. Thankful for my family and the different season we are moving into with adult children and what that future will bring. Most thankful for a God who has provided all the previous blessings.
Dustin Koenig, Help Desk Specialist
Ah yes, It’s that time of year again – time to gather with loved ones and acknowledge the positive aspects of our lives that are typically overlooked in the daily routine. Time to celebrate the lives of those who will be present only in spirit and are desperately missed. Time to set aside all the worries and deadlines to catch up with loved ones while simultaneously trying to steer the conversation anywhere other than politics.
Oh, and don’t forget to call your Dad now so he can go ahead and start looking for that scrap of paper with the Wi-Fi password written on it.
David Braun, Operations Manager
As a new employee to Lieberman I am very thankful for the opportunity to grow professionally here at LT. I feel blessed to be part of this team. Also thankful that I have a healthy family.
Joe Anslinger, Director of Infrastructure
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve an organization whose values and culture reflect those that I cherish for myself. Integrity, dedication, and a genuine concern for others are consistent throughout Lieberman Technologies. This isn’t just a company; it’s an extended family that I’m thankful to be a part of.
Kegan Kaiser, Software Developer
This year, I’m thankful for my deepening relationship with God, that my family is doing well, and that I have lots of friends who are getting married.
Michael Peerman, Director of Software Development
I am thankful for the family atmosphere we have at Lieberman. So many people genuinely care about how you are at the office and how you and your family are outside of the office.
I am thankful that we don’t have office music, which keeps us from seeing Brian Bates dancing in the halls.
I am thankful for the leadership that has established a good reputation in Lieberman and a solid team to continue for years to come.
Samantha Buente, Sheriff Sales Specialist
I’m grateful for Chapstick for keeping my mask-chafed lips in top shape.
Renee Walston, Software Developer
I know I’m new here, but I am extremely grateful to be here and with everyone who has been so wonderful. I’m thankful for my familial support as my husband and I are dealing with the foundation collapsing in our Evansville house, but God always comes through and we will come out the other side better for it.
Brian Burkett, Senior Solutions Consultant
My Faith – God has been good to me even through challenging times and in spite of my failings. Our church family has been precious to us through all of this, and absence from them through distancing in this pandemic has certainly made the heart grow fonder.
My Family – We’ve had more together time in our house than we could ever have prayed for. It has certainly caused some conflict as well, but I believe we’ll look back on this as a great opportunity that we’ll wish we had appreciated even more in the moment. I pray our children have their bond together strengthened in ways it could not have been without the pandemic. I’m thankful for my wife’s strength, patience, and grace through it all, especially with me. Finally, I’m thankful for our other family members. Not being able to see some of them who are afar as easily as we might under normal circumstances has certainly deepened my gratitude that they are in my life.
My Friends – While 2020 has brought painful news in some friendships due to illness, sometimes terminal, my friends have been a source of strength and encouragement. We’ve found unique ways to stay connected, and it has enriched all of our lives. It will make being together again under normal circumstances all the sweeter.
So Much to Be Thankful For
True, the course that this year has taken hasn’t been ideal for lots of reasons. Still, we’ve managed to meet our challenges head-on and learn from them. Lieberman Technologies has been fortunate to provide businesses with the tools to meet the technological demands that arose in 2020.
As we turn the corner into the final weeks of the year and enter into the holiday season, we hope that you find lots to be thankful for, as well. Maybe you’ll have to shift your focus just a bit, but those things are there, just waiting to be recognized. We’re certainly grateful for our customers and the trust they have placed in us this year. As always, we’re here for your hardware, software, and web needs!
